PLEDGE DRIVE
Visalia UU Fellowship members will soon be receiving requests for pledges for the 2009-10 fiscal year in order for the budget committee, Treasurer and Board to prepare a budget  for the annual meeting in May.

BUILDING YOUR OWN THEOLOGY CLASSES
Both an Introductory class and a "Volume 2" class began last month. This series, in an open discussion format, aids our spiritual growth by not telling us what to think, but helping us learn from each other and from the reading resources in our workbooks to literally "build our own theology" - one that can withstand the events of change, and change and grow continually as we go through our lives.  Although classes have started, there is still room for new participants. To participate, contact Debbie Wing.

KITCHEN CLEANUP IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY!

We all prepare food to share, praise the cooks and enjoy our sumptuous potluck dinners, but it's easy to forget that the kitchen and dining tables don't clean themselves. No, there are no bus boy or charwoman or parents to clean up after us. Please take your turn
1) scraping plates, 2) loading the dishwasher, 3) clearing unused dishes
from the counter, 4) wiping the tables, 5) gathering garbage from the kitchen and bathrooms and taking it to a garbage can.  (You may also come early to set out plates, cups and utensils; empty the dishwasher; and start coffee brewing.)  These are simple tasks to be shared as a community and a service to others, with gratitude.

DRUM CIRCLE
Sunday, March 1, 2009 - 7-9 pm and recurring monthly, on every first Sunday at the Visalia Friends Meeting House.
We sponsor this Drum Circle to support our friends across the ocean-- the people of Oroko in Guinea, West-Africa!  Get involved, have fun, educate yourself, and help build a world-wide community through music! No cost  to participate, although a freewill offering will be appreciated. Contact: 687-1891 or email monstermath@rocketmail.com

SAVE-MART SHARES RAFFLE
April 5, 2009
- We will hold our first raffle for our Save-Mart Shares fundraiser!  The Prize is a $20 gift certificate to the Visalia Farmer's Market - that's 10  $2 coupons to use at all the vendors! Your raffle ticket is your Save-Mart Receipt - bring them to worship service and deposit in the raffle box with your name on them.

JOIN US ON FACEBOOK
An increasing number of our members and friends are networking with each other and our Fellowship on the social networking website, Facebook.com.  Please join our UU Visalia Facebook group and have some fun with online interaction and sharing! It's a good way to learn more about each other, and to keep in touch between Sundays!

SUMMER PLANS
Many years ago, our Fellowship used to just fold-up for the season, but in the last three years, each summer we've enjoyed some terrific "summer sessions" with almost as much attendance as during the winter, but more opportunities for discussion and engagement as a community.  In the past, we've explored Thoreau and Emerson as Spiritual Guides, "Award-Winning Sermons" and "Articulating our UU Faith."  What would we like to do this year? Explore Ethical Eating? Have a book discussion on "Thank God for Evolution" or "Waging Peace"? Watch 30 minute videos on the Transcendentalist movement or world religions or then discuss? Have some craft sessions on building personal spiritual crafts, or non-toxic household cleaning? Send your suggestions to info@uuvisalia.org and we'll survey the congregation in April and May.
